Revelación Maranatha Concert in Presque Isle, ME

More Info	Revelación Maranatha is an outstanding Christian Merengue band, on tour from the Dominican Republic. The rhythm and spirit of the music will move you to MOVE!!! This is a true Family Event happening at UMPI during Homecoming Weekend! Donations accepted instead of a ticket fee. (Feel free to be generous!) One of the goals is to continue the awareness of the needs in Haiti and to spark interest in individuals for future teams to g...o down to help. Proceeds from this concert will benefit Haitians Helping Haitians, an organization associated with the Good Samaritan General Hospital of La Romana, Dominican Republic. (The band members donate their talents!) The Good Samaritan General Hospital of La Romana, Dominican Republic - The Need: * Since the earthquake on January 12th, 2010, there are no public schools in Haiti * Since the earthquake there are no universities in Haiti * There are teachers willing to teach, but there is no government to pay them * There are students willing to learn, but there are no classrooms for them The Commitment: * responded within days with earthquake relief aid to Haiti * provided support with more than 100 medical volunteers and first responders (including Dr. Eva Shay, February, 2010 - supported by the community members of Aroostook County!!) * provided more than 50,000 meals to Haitian families * provided emergency repairs to damaged but livable buildings Children's Aid: * supporting the revitalization of two schools located in or near Port-au-Prince, Haiti * committed to keeping the schools open ten months annually NEEDED: Current monthly education expense of $1,400 per school Plans for 2011: * expand the number of teaching locations * begin construction on new school * begin construction on new health clinic * continue sending medical teams * PLANNED Budget: $75,000 NEEDED: Your contribution - Every $$ helps!
